The Rex Theatre

Note that of the buildings on the north side of the square the Rex Theatre is the only one with a vaulted portion on the roof. This gives added protection to the Rex's ornate tin ceiling that is under the vaulted part of the roof. While many 19th century buildings have tin ceilings many of the ones that also have flat roofs usually have water damage due to leakage over the years. The Rex's tin ceiling in the dance studio that is above the auditorium and under the vaulted part of the roof is still in very good shape because the vaulted part of the roof protects from leaks so much better than just a flat roof.
